Client Implements the Healthx web portal experiences great savings

A community based regional health plan with nearly 50,000 members needed a way for their members and providers to find information on their own – an easy-to-use self service tool.
The Healthx web portal was implemented, and providers were able to self serve many functions that used to require customer service support. These self-service information hubs lead to real costs savings for this plan.
Reviewing data over a three year span, the plan had the following trends
1. Baseline call center numbers were averaging .21 calls per member life per month for the year prior to Healthx services.
a. Membership increased by 22%
b. Customer service calls per member decreased from .21 calls per member life to .15 calls per member life. This reflects an impressive decrease of 24% over projected call volumes.
2. In spite of more than 20% growth in membership, total call volume was down by over 5.2% from year one call volume,
Together with the Healthx solution, this plan was able to increase member and provider satisfaction while reducing overhead costs.
